The Solida III takes 120 film and produces a 6 cm by 6 cm negative twelve frames to a roll of film. The Solida III is basically the same camera, as you would expect, with a different lens and the addition of a non-coupled rangefinder.
I scrolled on my favorite second-hand website, read threads and articles about different models (including Agfa Isolette and Record, Zeiss Ikon, Voigtlander Bessa.) and narrowed it down to those two (you tell me if I was wrong): the Lubitel 166 (and 166B), and the Franka Solida (with a Radionar lens, 1:2.9).īoth are MF, I can have them in pretty good condition for the same price, but different overall size and lens size, and different workflow. Franka Solida III camera The first Vintage camera that I bought was a Franka Solida II. At first I wanted to get another rangefinder (Kiev, FED, Zorki.) but I figured it was an occasion to try something else (but you tell me if going with a Zorki 4 or Kiev 4 or FED would be better?). So I've been fooling around with my Yashica Electro 35 CC and having fun so far, but I'm craving another film camera, for several reasons (having another lens size, being able to shoot B&W with one and color with the other as I'm not a heavy shooter, trying another workflow, and trying MF!).
